Devon Rex
Origin
Around 1960 in Devon, England, a cat with a curly coat was found. Ten years earlier a similar cat had been found in Cornwall — the Cornish Rex. Crossings showed they were different genes; the Devon Rex mutation is called "rex gene 2".

The Devon Rex is very active, mischievous and affectionate. It remains playful throughout its life, loves human company and can retrieve objects. Often described as a "poodle-cat".
