Havana
Origin
The Havana is originally English, created by crossing Siamese, Russian Blues and domestic cats. In the 1960s the dark brown cats were exported to the US where the breed developed differently. Two standards exist: the American Havana Brown and the European Havana.
Character
Sociable, affectionate and intelligent, it loves company and hates loneliness.
Body: medium length, muscular, semi-foreign.
Head: slightly longer than wide, distinctive "corn cob" muzzle.
Eyes: oval, slightly oblique. Vivid green preferred.
Ears: large, well spaced, slightly tilted forward.
Coat: short, smooth and glossy, close-lying.
Colour: warm chestnut (chocolate) or lilac throughout.
