Origin
The breed was founded by Siegfried (1984) and Brunhilde (1985), born of a black cat crossed with a male resembling a Russian Blue. Geneticist Dr. Solveig Pfleuger described it as a longhaired Russian Blue. In 1995 contacts with Russia confirmed similar cats existed there. The name means "creature of the mist" in German.

Character
Gentle, reserved and very loyal. Strong bonds with owners, shy with strangers. Intelligent, calm, prefers routine.

Care
Brush twice a week to prevent tangles.

Body: medium to large, muscular and graceful.
Head: modified wedge, flat forehead, medium muzzle.
Eyes: large, slightly oval. Vivid green in adults.
Ears: large, wide at the base.
Tail: long, full, fuller at the tip.
Coat: semi-long, fine and silky, abundant undercoat.
Colour: blue only, with silver sheen.
