Origin
The name Ocicat derives from the Ocelot. An American breed that arose from accidental crossings between Siamese, Abyssinians and American Shorthairs in the 1960s. Entirely domestic with no wild cat blood.

Character
Active, social and playful. Very affectionate and adaptable despite its wild appearance. Can be trained to retrieve objects.

Body: large, muscular, athletic and graceful.
Head: slightly elongated, broad muzzle, strong chin.
Eyes: large, almond-shaped, slightly oblique. All colours except blue.
Ears: medium to large, slightly tilted.
Tail: medium to long, slightly tapered.
Coat: short, smooth and lustrous.
Colour: tawny, chocolate, cinnamon, blue, lilac, fawn with or without silver. Always spotted.
