Oriental Longhair
Origin
The Oriental Longhair is the longhaired version of the Oriental Shorthair, born from crossings between Oriental Shorthairs and Balinese. Breeders wanted an oriental-type Siamese in semi-long coat without colourpoint.
Character
Very social, vocal, intelligent and active. Strong bonds with owners, cannot tolerate loneliness.
Care
Little or no undercoat; weekly brushing suffices.
Body: long, slender, elegant, muscular. Oriental type.
Head: long wedge, straight profile.
Eyes: almond-shaped, slightly oblique. Green preferred.
Ears: very large, wide at the base, continuing the head wedge.
Tail: long, thin, forming a plume.
Coat: semi-long, fine and silky, close-lying.
Colour: all colours and patterns except colourpoint.
