Oriental Shorthair
Origin
The Oriental Shorthair arose from crossings between Siamese and domestic cats, Russian Blues and Abyssinians. The goal was a Siamese-type cat without colourpoint. With over 300 colour combinations it is one of the most colourful breeds in the world.
Character
Very sociable, vocal, intelligent and active. Close bonds with owners, cannot tolerate loneliness.
Care
Very easy to maintain; weekly brushing suffices.
Body: long, slender, elegant, muscular. Semi-foreign type.
Head: long wedge, straight profile.
Eyes: almond-shaped, slightly oblique. Green preferred.
Ears: very large, wide at the base, continuing the head wedge.
Tail: long and thin.
Coat: short, fine and lustrous, close-lying.
Colour: all colours and patterns except colourpoint (over 300 combinations).
