Origin
The Pixie-bob is an American breed from the 1980s in Washington State. Legend has it the breed arose from spontaneous matings between wild bobcats and domestic cats, but no genetic proof supports this. Carol Ann Brewer is credited with standardising the breed.

Character
Very affectionate, loyal and intelligent, often compared to a dog. Gets along well with children and other animals. Not very vocal.

Body: large to very large, muscular and heavy. Polydactyly common.
Head: inverted pear shape, broad forehead, heavy brow ridges.
Eyes: triangular, deep-set, wild expression. Gold to brownish-green.
Ears: medium, tufts desirable.
Tail: short (2–10 cm), articulated.
Coat: short to semi-long, thick and weather-resistant.
Colour: brown/fawn spotted tabby only.
