Ragdoll
Origin
The Ragdoll was created in the USA in the 1960s by Ann Baker in California. The breed descended from a white cat named Josephine. The Ragdoll is known for going completely limp when picked up — like a rag doll, hence the name.
Character
Extremely gentle, calm and affectionate. Follows its owner everywhere. Ideal for families with children. Non-aggressive towards other animals.
Care
Brush twice a week. Little undercoat.
Body: large to very large, muscular and heavy. Full development around 4 years.
Head: broad wedge, slightly domed forehead.
Eyes: large, oval, vivid blue obligatory.
Ears: medium, wide at the base, slightly tilted forward.
Tail: long and full.
Coat: semi-long, silky and soft, little undercoat.
Colour: colourpoint only (with or without white). Seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, cream, red.
