Siberian

Origin
The Siberian is a natural breed originating from Russia and Siberia. Longhaired cats have lived in Siberian forests for centuries. The breed was officially recognised in Russia in the 1980s and in the West in the 1990s. Siberian forests and tundra shaped a robust, cold-resistant cat.

Character
Active, playful and affectionate. Intelligent and adaptable. Gets along well with children and other animals. Soft voice with many intonations.

Care
The triple coat needs brushing two to three times a week, more during moulting.

Body: large, muscular and robust. Semi-cobby. Strong legs.
Head: broad and slightly rounded, short broad muzzle.
Eyes: large, slightly oval. All colours.
Ears: medium to large, wide at the base, with tufts.
Tail: medium to long, full.
Coat: triple, waterproof and dense. Semi-long with ruff and britches.
Colour: all colours and patterns.
