Origin
The Singapura is one of the smallest cat breeds in the world. It descends from street cats of Singapore, hence its name (Singapura is the Malay name for Singapore). In the 1970s a few specimens were brought to the USA by Hal and Tommy Meadow, who developed the breed. The Singapura was recognised by the CFA in 1988.

Character
Lively, curious and very affectionate. Despite its small size it is full of energy. Loves being near its owner and is rarely aggressive.

Body: small to medium, muscular and compact.
Head: rounded, broad skull, large face.
Eyes: large, almond-shaped. Hazel, green or yellow.
Ears: large, wide at the base, deeply set.
Tail: slender, medium length, blunt tip.
Coat: short, fine and silky, lying close to the body.
Colour: sepia agouti only (warm ivory with dark brown ticking).
